Repeated scam calls

Options
Hi

My elderly mother is receiving repeated scam calls, her bank account has been hacked, blah, blah. She knows that they are scam calls so she doesn't respond, though she has contacted her bank a couple of times and now she has to go through 'voice recognition software' before she can talk to them.
This is distressing her a bit. She can subscribe to the TPS but that won't prevent these calls. She will be very confused if she has to go through a complicated process to block them, can anybody suggest a simple, cheap and effective way to block these calls that will not confuse or upset her?

TIA

No realistic way at the moment these scammers, cold callers, etc use numerous different UK phone numbers each day on block.
So all you will be able to do is block one particular number, next day is irrelevant they use a different number.

TPS wont do a thing even if it is a UK company but certainly register with the phone number with them laws changed thnk it was last year where its illegal for any UK company to contact you without authorisation. So if it is UK company they are breaking the law inadvertantly or otherwise it wont stop foreign call centres phoning stopping you from working 5 times a day using UK phone numbers.

Yes, I can confirm the effectiveness of the BT8500/8600. We've had ours since they first came out and not one of these scammers has bothered to go through the process of getting through.
  • +1 as above.....fantastic phones
