Cheque scanning

I currently pay in cheques via Halifax's app.

Was using Barclays, but sometimes it would take three or more scans before cheque was accepted. I assume Halifax has a better scanning engine, as I use the same device for each account/app.

Any other banks offer this service? I've just applied for the Lloyds £125 offer, so assume they will have it, but would be nice to have a backup.

Yes Lloyd’s offer it as well.
As do HSBC.

Thanks Gary. any idea how to contact Lloyds re my account as I fell foul of the dreaded hidden continue button on the fifth page, so I am in limbo for 30 days and online chat hasn't got a clue.

Pity I can't log in to my HSBC account: something about a telephone password: I have no interest in telephone banking!

Why can't i see the option to pay a cheque in on the barclays app?

i've also found an article from santnder describing how to pay a cheque in with their app too but i don't have the option on my app??

I had the same gripe fenwick. Manager at my local branch sorted it for me. Gave some excuse about it being on trial, but this was some while ago ...... maybe a year.

Interesting about Santander. I'll have to download their app and investigate.

Edit: found this :-

Open your Santander Mobile Banking App and sign in with your user ID and password. Open “Deposit Checks” from the main menu at the top left of your screen. Choose the account you want to deposit to (if you have more than one Santander account). Enter the amount of the check.

The spelling of 'check(s)' gives the game away that that quote relates to the Santander app used in the USA, rather than the UK version, which, once available, will refer to 'cheque(s)'!

Well spotted. I can't see any scanning option in the app either.

Bottom bar 'Pay & Transfer' then 'Pay in a cheque' in middle of screen

Thanks for that info but on my Barclays app when I select pay and transfer there is no pay a cheque option
