parking fine for driving slowly and not parking!!!

Can anyone help please? I've been sent a parking notice from UKPS (with a photo of my car) stating I was parked on an access road with double yellow lines when I was lost. I wasn't parked and was just trying to get my bearings, I didn't even stop but with a photo rather than a video this is rather hard to prove. I unfortunately didn't know about this forum before I initially replied and wrote the letter in the first person so have in effect admitted it was me. I have now appealed to the land owner and I'm waiting for their reply, is there anything else I can do? Has this happened to anyone else? How can someone give a parking ticket when the engine is running and I'm moving, albeit very slowly?

Full name of the parking firm please, there are too many with very similar acronyms. Who they are could influence the advice we give.

Have you read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1 yet?

In addition to the above, you should complain to the DVLA that since you didn't stop, the scammers have unlawfully obtained your personal data.

Please also complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.

Nine times out of ten of these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra work.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies

It wasn’t a car park - it was an access road.

And what does it say about appeal and whether they offer POPLA, and if they carry the BPA AOS logo on the letter, or the even more useless IPC effort at a Trade Body?

Coupon-mad - Thank you for helping. Guess who... the IPC! After they rejected my initial complaint stating I wasn't parked and never had been I looked up the IPC and only saw complaints about them!
