Extended porch advice

Dear All,
We have a Victorian semi-detached house whereby our front door is on the side of the house.
Our attached neighbours have a porch.
We are thinking of adding one too but our dimensions would be bigger than the permitted 3 square metres.
We are looking at a 4.5m x 1m internal floor space. I presume this would require planning permission and if so does anyone know the requirements I would need to meet so that it passes? We're in the Havering borough.
Thanks in advance as I have never carried out such a project!

Contact your local council and ask them. Some councils are more restrictive than others.0
