I would have thought added as a valuable single item on your contents rather than a stand alone poilicy
at that vaule they may ask for a valuationEx forum ambassador

I bought a diamond ring for my 21st and the jewler asked me about insurance so i took it out with them. do be careful if you think your house insurance will cover it my sister lost her engagement ring in the trafford centre her home insurance wont cover it because it was outside the house and they said they wasnt sure where she lost it, it might still be in the house so they said that the ring isnt lost if its in the house! so they get you all roads!
i hope this helps

i may try the house insurance but my understanding was i would run into problems as Stephb1986 sister had thus stand alone policy may be best solution!
i do have valuation and all the required papers0 -

Did you have personal possesions cover?
I would suggest covering on your own house insurance if the price is reasonable0 -
im not sure to be honest she works for barclays and obviously has took all her insurance policies out with them and now they are screwing her over. I'd read all the small print online before taking out any insurance on jewlery
