The Post Office can be wrong sometimes - and also be helpful

I have an odd tale to share about a delivery of an ebay delivery. I was ill and did not get to the door when the postman rang and was not able to get to the PO within the time limits to collect the parcel. When I took the red card there I was told it had been returned to the sender.
However, some months later, I was in the PO again to collect a parcel and a different member of staff told me that they had another parcel for me. It was the parcel that I had missed when I was ill. It had not gone back to the sender. It was also not in their records book so she had to change the entry for the parcel I was collecting to two items so I signed for it that way.
This is a newly opened PO in a rural area. I am puzzled by the book they keep. I don't ever remember signing in a hand written records book for parcels when I lived in a city. On the other hand, the staff didn't recognise their customers and know they had parcels waiting for them. So although it went wrong at first, I'm glad I got my parcel at last.

More importantly, did you claim for non-receipt of original Ebay parcel and get a refund and when you eventually received it, paid againThrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
A Post Office? Do you mean delivery office (as in Royal Mail)? or Parcelforce delivery?0

In some areas RM use POs as a parcel drop off area for collection.0 -
Surely redelivery is the way to go now? I only go to the delivery office if I know I am passing by before a redelivery could get to me.0

I didn't claim for it. I accepted that it was my fault I didn't collect on time and agreed with the seller that if it ever got back to her she would repost at my expense.'Get Brexit done' is a lie[

You are quite right, but a previous redelivery from there has failed to be straight forward, and as I said, I was too ill to think straight at the time anyway.'Get Brexit done' is a lie[

Sometimes it all depends on who is serving you.
I have problems with the same woman all the time at our main PO.
She once told me my parcel was too big for small parcel when I knew it was not as I had made sure of it.
She said the recipient could be charged extra but she accepted it in the end.
Another time she did not scan a bar code in on another prepaid parcel. When I pointed it out to her she said the bar codes do not work. I had to ask her to do it anyway and she was surprised when it did!
She always puts my large letters through the slot to check and looks disappointed when they fit.
All the others that work there are fine.0
