Hello
Have just applied and been accepted for the Capital One cashback card (the 4% cb for 3 months then 1% cb card).
So far I applied online and got the credit agreement in the post to sign & send back - but have yet seen any reference to setting up direct debit to pay the card. Haven't yet received the card or PIN.
I obviously want to pay the balance in full each month - just wondering how I go about setting up a DD to do this - do they send a form out with the card or do I have to call them up and request one?
Thanks

I applied for & have now got up & running my Capital 1 card, &, don't worry, all should be sorted out when you get the card through the post. (It comes, by the way, in a box about the same size as a video tape!)
You have to phone the 0800 number stuck on the card to activate it, & whilst on the phone you should be asked about your preferences - I asked for Direct Debit of full amount, & it was all in place before the 1st statement came.
Hope that helps.0 -
I have had this card since September and it has been a nightmare - particularly to set up direct debits. In fact, I have just returned from holiday and found that the direct debit which I had set up was not done correctly by Capital One and as a result have missed a payment - the first in my life!!!
I have also had problems with the card being accepted - apparently it had too many zeros in the number for some retailers' systems to believe it to be genuine!!!
There has also been an incident when it was declined due to an "outage" at Capital One.
I will keep the card until the cashback is paid and then cancel it. I spend a lot on my card and travel a huge amount. I cannot trust it and the customer service is worse than dire.0 -
I always recommend set up DD's in writing, especially if you want to pay the full amount, which is less lucrative for the CC provider. Ring up for the DD mandate form by all means, but then complete it, take a copy and return it. Then, if they don't set it up in time and/or properly (ie. for the potentially more lucrative minimum amount), you have the evidence to complain successfully.
GE Capital tried the old "minimum amount" trick with me, and I got a £5 goodwill credit out of them as a result. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
I've got two of these cards (one in my name and one in OH's) Got a dd for full amount set up when activating the cards and both DDs in place before 1st statements.
The only thing I did notice was they they counted a refund as a payment and reduced the amount they claimed accordingly.
(and for anyone who thinks it odd that i've got 2, I got the 1st one back in July when you could still choose the pictures)0
