Identity theft on facebook business page

Sorry if this is the wrong section but hope someone can help.
Son has a business page on Facebook where he gets most of his work as a tradesman.
Yesterday he got message to say there were several PayPal transactions on his account and was it him. Because of all the scam emails etc he ignored it but as the day wore on he did indeed have 4 withdrawals amounting to £120.
He has spent 2 days on the phone to PayPal who won't do anything and say the withdrawals were authorised and the bank won't do anything.
There was no money in his PayPal account and the bank it was attached to has not taken the money yet but even though he has stopped the card the bank says they won't be able to stop them taking the money from his account???
On his face book account 2 names have come up so it looks like they are piggy backing his account and a further sum has been taken today.
He has changed all passwords etc and can't stop it. Is there anything he can do?
Does anyone have a phone number for Facebook?

The telephone number should come up if you go through their help and contact system. PAyPal are usually very helpful.
If both a Facebook account and PayPal have been hacked I'd be worried about what else the hacker has access to. as well as trying to speak to PayPal he also needs to be doing a full clean on his PC (try the tech board) , after a deep clean he also needs to change all other passwords. He has either fallen for a phish, or has easily guessable passwords or potentially someone close to him has access to his accounts.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. He has been in contact with paypal several times but they are adamant the payments were authorised by him and they won't listen to the fact that they are using his name.
He has found 3 names on his Facebook when he goes into the settings and they (it looks like they are one person) have set up an ad campaign of up to £1200 per day.
This person is in USA and is advertising jeeps and it seems he makes an amount per click.
We had advice to stop the ad campaign in the business settings or at least reduce the amount of the campaign but the settings just click back to what they have set.
My son has sent several screenshots to facebook of this in his settings but they are still chasing him for the bill's that are adding up now.
Can anyone give any advice what to do now as he has tried everything and short of shutting Facebook down and losing his livelihood and goodwill doesnt know which way to turn.0 -

PayPal are usually very good at dealing with hacked accounts, there must be something happening here that leads them to suspect that your son has been more then just lax with his security . The fact that the hacker also has access to Facebook and possibly more suggests this is a really targeted attack and possibly someone who knows your son. Bear in mind as well that to have made changes to Facebook and PayPal the hackers also have access to your son's email , and if they have deleted security emails from PayPal and Facebook they still might have control.
I don't know what to suggest here, a targeted attack like this begins to sound personal , has he any ex business associates or close friends who may want to see him fail? I'm hoping someone else can help, if PayPal and Facebook don't believe him then he needs to find a way to persuade them. Closing the Facebook account though won't help with PayPal as the hackers have access to that as a seperate entity.
Whilst you wait for someone else to advise I would recommend warning all banks and other sites used online that someone may have access to his log ins, and to perhaps set up a third party authorisation of some sort to avoid the problem spreading into other areas.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Son is a self employed electrician and has business page on Facebook with phone number email etc, this is where he gets most of his work. Nobody has access other than him.
When he goes into business manager settings the add campaigns are listed there under 3 different names but have same pic attached to all 3 and http address showing ads for flashy jeeps.
He is really care full with security and would not click on anything suspect.
He has changed all passwords and stopped the bank account connected to PayPal.
What he needs to do is stop the ad campaigns but his account won't let him change anything in the settings.
PayPal say the payments were authorised because they used his name but have no idea how they can do this without access to his password.
Anyway soolin, sorry to go on, it is such a worry and thank you for trying to help.0 -
Puzzled as to what the charges are for? Are they charges for additional adverts on facebook?
If yes then you need to contact facebook first not paypal. After you get facebook to agree that he did not setup the additional adverts then start the claims to get his money back.
No idea on facebook security these days but there used to be glitches. I changed my daughters profile once without her password or email address.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The charges are for ads set up on his Facebook business page which were set up by the fraudster. The ads are paid through PayPal.
The ads are set up in his account manager to run all the time by 3 separate names (but they seem to be just one person with different identities)
This person is in USA and we can see his ads for Jeeps. He has set up the ads to run up to £1200 per day and there is no way my son can stop these bills running up or stop the ads on his Facebook settings.
Son has filled loads of "unrecognised transaction" forms in to Facebook but they are doing nothing and saying he now owes x amount on his account for ads placed.0 -

I know he doesn't want to but I think perhaps trying to suspend or close his facebook account might need to be considered. Running ads and running up a bill is starting to sound personal , as he managed to find any way the hacker got control of so much of his personal info?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Phew!!! Thank you everyone for trying to help. It is now sorted.
After sending screenshots etc of the names and ad campaigns set up in his "account manager" they have now sorted it.
Facebook have re-imbursed any money that was taken by Paypal and have stopped any further ad set-ups.0
