New washing machine

My hotpoint washing machine is starting to give up and an engineer suggested that due to what seems to be wrong with it, it's not worth repairing.
Can anyone recommend any decent washing machines under £300
What are good ones generally? - Hotpoint, Indiset, Beko? Are cheaper sounding brands like Candy and Hisense any good?
Thanks

I had a Hotpoint that worked perfectly for 13 years and my new homeowner now has it. It wasn't hugely fancy - I think the simpler they are, the less can go wrong with them.(Nearly) dunroving0

Hotpoint, Indesit, Ariston & several others are all the same company, Hoover & Candy are the same company (but different to Hotpoint etc). It's a minefield & you'll get recommendations for all makes & others saying avoid those same makes at all costs! To add to that, the name on the front of the machine doesn't necessarily tell you who made it. Good luck.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I needed an integrated washer dryer for my annexe. I dislike them as they are a major compromise but needed one for a tiny kitchen. I decided that I'd minimise hassle by going for a decent brand since I'd had experience of Hotpoint and it was rubbish.
I bought a "factory return" Miele machine from a reputable Ebay seller that came with a one year warranty and was half the price of a new one. Very happy so it might be a way to get a better machine for your budget.Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
Research.
Check there are overrides for the eco washes if you can't wait 3+hours.
(temp, time, rinse, spin overrides)
Check the spin performance(not speed) is at least "A" dryer clothes.
Decide how big you need for normal washes.
The kg rating is for the eco wash not others.
Beko do 5y warranty on their Grundig branded machines.
Once you shortlist download the manual and Google for known issues.0
