Have you ever tried Depop, Patatam or Vestiaire Collective?

Hi folks,
I'm writing a guide on alternative ways to sell clothes, rather than just bunging them on eBay.
If you've tried Depop, Patatam or Vestiaire Collective, I'd love to hear your experiences and how much you've managed to make. Thank you very much

I have great success on Depop. The sales don`t come at first but once you build up a rating you`ll soon find they come thick and fast. I have at least 2 sales a week most days and try to upload new items very often.
Depop helps contribute towards my savings either for a loan, holidays or Christmas, It`s definitely one of the options I consider when I want to make money. If you think outside of the box and think of how to be different to get people to buy your stuff then your winning.
However it`s not for everyone, It is more catered for the younger demographic. Lots of handmade and vintage items get sold on it.
I`ve also dabbled in a bit of the Vestaire collection through my hobby. I`m not keen on the website, I find it sells a lot of vintage designer clothing and it`s filtering wasn`t great either.2017 Wins - Coco Pops, £100 Amazon voucher, Elf T-shirt, £250 Zalando Voucher and £250 FeelUnique Voucher, private gig concerts

Thanks so much Emmaaar22, that's brilliant. Do you have an example of a great price you've got for something on Depop please? Thank you!0

Unfortanely I don`t, I sell on depop more then I do buy.
Some other points I forgot to mention...
Depop are reguarly dropping free fees for a number of days e.g You have to pay no fees when you buy something or hand fees over when you sell something. A percentage of what you sell is given to Depop normally, But these free fees days that`s not accounted for. Can last as long as five days to a week.
Posting a listing is really easy these days, You can post up to 4 photos and their newest feature is you can post a video too. Adding the details is also easy.
Customer service is also a doddle to deal with, If you have a problem you can contact them straight away and they normally get back to you within 24hrs. I can`t recall any major problems with Depop. I have had problems with sending stuff away but the buyer has received a refund immediatley with no problems.
Payout is simple, You can either pay with Paypal or your card. Once someone buys something the cash is immediatley transferred into your PP account.
Also I dunno if you have heard of them but another selling app would be Vinted. Vinted is similar to Depop in a few ways. It`s not as popular or as well known as Depop. Vinted has also the same features as Depop and it`s easy to list on it too, They have forums where you can chat to fellow Vinties (As they call it) and share tips and tricks. Payout is not the same as Depop, You have to send the item away first and sometimes provide proof if the item is not over £30. You do have to rely on the seller to confirm they`ve received the package and then Vinted send you a message saying £30 is making it`s way into your account. Once it`s in your account you are free to transfer it over to your bank account without no charge, This usaully takes a couple of days and theres no spending limit.2017 Wins - Coco Pops, £100 Amazon voucher, Elf T-shirt, £250 Zalando Voucher and £250 FeelUnique Voucher, private gig concerts

I’ve bought and sold through Vestiaire Collective. As a buyer it’s been great - though the postage isn’t cheap as the items are authenticated in their Paris office, so you’re paying international rates.
I liked it less as a seller. I tried to sell my virtually unworn Burberry mac on there rather than eBay as I wanted a good price for it and thought people would feel reassured that it was authentic as they offered verification. However, the percentage they wanted of the sale was high. I bought the mac for c.£800 (at an outlet in the US when the dollar exchange rate was much better!) and was hoping to sell for 5-600 (it was the latest model coat and sold in the shops for about £1400). However, listing it at £600 meant that I would receive only £450 of the final price. They also were trying to drive me down on what I sold it for - their ‘recommended’ price was about £300, which meant I’d only receive about £190 for it, and I had to jump though various hoops to try and list it at the price I wanted, which was capped at £600. I only ever got people making ludicrously lowball offers for it, the volume of customers just wasn’t there. In the end I sold it on eBay for £550, of which I kept the vast majority. So, unless you’ve got something that’s worth thousands that you didn’t pay thousands for, their sellers fees make it unprofitable to use.0
