Glass Box Extension

Hi all,
after a bit of guidance. Wanting to stick a small glass box extension onto my kitchen, reasonably small 1-1.5m x 3m, just essentially extend the dining area, no doors just flat glass panels with minimal framing.
Cant seem to get an idea on costings? Anyone with any idea on rough costing?
Thanks in advance

Can't help directly, other than to say it will probably be far more expensive than an extension of more conventional construction. The glass with have to be of high spec for both safety and thermal insulation reasons.0

Surely it will fall foul of most conservatories as well and be roasting in sun and freezing in colder months?0

Realhomes.com put an estimated figure of £3000 per m2. Article from this June. So for your space it works out about £13,500. Mileage will vary.0

Cheers guys
Ashe - as I understand it the glass is such that it does not warm like a conservatory.
Spadoosh - cheers found the article, perfect, could live with that and could look great0 -
I'd have openers in it, especially if the sun gets around that side of the house.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

It might be solar control glazing, but it can still get hot inside. Whatever glass it is could still be installed in a conservatory, so that doesn't really make sense.0 -
Again I am no expert thus asking the question but these type of glass extensions are becoming more and more popular extending kitchens etc so must be suitable without the for mentioned issues, some examples: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=kitchen+glass+extension&client=safari&hl=en-gb&prmd=isnv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjX-picppflAhXzoXEKHSbdBrMQ_AUoAXoECA0QAQ&biw=375&bih=635&dpr=3
Again anyone who has done something like this I’d love to hear from
Thanks0 -
Well, all I can say is that I make a good living designing air conditioning systems for expensive glass boxes, amongst other things. I wouldn't have one personally, but my mum would love to sit all day in the sun in one and roast.0

This is not as minimalist as you are looking at but we like it. As I said before, you need it to open & some blinds are a good idea if it faces south. Don't put anything that will fade near the glass.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Thanks EssexExile, looks great, bet it make as massive difference internally extending the room.
I suspect we will end up with something similar was just hoping to get the roof glass too as will bring so much light in through the house.0
