Switching from Vantage Accounts

Sorry if this is a slightly daft question, but my Vantage account(s) have never really felt like current accounts, but can I use them for switching to another bank for the sign up bonuses, as long as they meet the DD etc criteria ?

Hopefully someone has already successfully done this.

Thanks in advance

    I can't see why not.

It is a current account, even if (for whatever reason) you don't "feel" that it is.
  • I've just switched one of my 3 Vantage current accounts to Club Lloyds current account and received the bonus of £125. My switch is due to complete today.

I stopped chasing interest on the Vantage accounts when the rate dropped to 1.5% (it's now lower, around 1.2%) in favour of keeping the 3 X £5000 cash in my Marcus Online Savings account, so I moved the DDs moved to other accounts (or cancelled them).

Now have two empty Vantage accounts awaiting possible furure switch offers.

Thanks, that is just what I had hoped but didn't want to waste my time if not. As an aside, if this helps people struggling to find enough sources of Direct Debit (especially after Tesco Bank stopped allowing you to effectively set up your own DDs), the Hanley Economic Building Society allow you to regularly fund some of their savings accounts by DD. I don't have any affiliation with them other than my own savings accounts both with DD funding.

    Hope that is useful

Otherwise as above, current accounts with the vantage add on are fully fledged current accounts so can be used for switching. I'd recommend keeping a few DDs set up on them so they are ready to switch at a moments notice if required.

I assume you mean Bank of Scotland accounts? Yes you can. Vantage is an add on that get's you a few perks. The account is a current account like any other.

I'm stunned they missed this, moving a customer within the LBG and paying you to do it?!?!

It's usually switches between Halifax and BoS they don't pay incentives for, not so much an issue for Lloyds. Seems to be a bit hit and miss otherwise about other banking groups allowing you to switch to another account in their group and get an incentive for it.
