We are moving quite well with solicitors, however we have got our fixtures and fittings from the house we are buying.
Some items we were told we were being left now have price tags next to them to buy them, im not that bothered about the items, would be nice to have them but if asking about it slows down the process i wont bother, could it end up taking a few days/week to get this kind of stuff answered?
They are offering stupid amounts like 200 quid for a 20 year old oven and 70 quid for old curtains so to be honest im half tempted not to buy anything as the prices are insane.

You can discuss fixtures and fittings and the cost of them with the estate agent as they can liaise with both you and the seller direct which would save time if you want to negotiate but once agreed, tell your solicitors as it will be included in the contract and your solicitor will collect the money for the fixtures with the other monies you need to pay and pay over on completion.0

I agree, go through your EA for this as it will be quicker. I queried the fixtures and fittings list with my solicitor and they took so long to respond, I ended up asking the EA and it was sorted within the day.0

Vendors often hav unrealistic expectations about the value of 2nd hand items like white goods. Check ebay for the price of similar items and don't offer more.
Often the vendor does not even want the items (buying new for their own new ome, or it already has fitted items), so they'll leave them behind rather than dispose, even if you've not agreed to buy them!0 -
This is why i think im going to take the risk, it will cost them money to disconnect a gas oven, but they will probably take it anyway i reckon.0

Of course the nuclear option is to just say you expected them to be included as you were told they were being left, so your offer reflected that.
Thank them for agreeing a value on the items and let them know you'll reduce your offer by the total amount of their own valuation and agree to buy those (if any) you actually want.
Or maybe a softer version via the EA, quite likely they'll just agree to leave everything, and seems right they do if their agent told you it'd be staying.0 -
I remember many years ago when we bought the house we are in now, the sellers wanted us to buy a bedroom carpet for £400.It was I think an Axminster. However it was a lurid shade of purple with huge Orange and green circles on.We declined, said we weren't interested and got a certain amount of pleasure knowing they would have to remove it.It was a large room as well 21 x14.So very glad it wasn't left!0

Already tried to get her to leave a few things as a few things came back on the survey, however got nothing from it, whats the likelyhood someone would actually take down a shed to take with them?0
