hall stairs and landing

How much would I expect to pay for someone to paint the walls of my hall stairs and landing, skirtings and four door frames (not the doors).
This is in a small three bedroom house in west midlands.

There are too many variables.


Who supplies the paint and of what quality? A decent trade quality paint will require fewer quotes than a value brand paint and therefore will take less to apply.


How much preparation is needed? Lots to fill?


Does the woodwork need filling? Or burning back?
Does it need sugar-soaping first?


And who do you want to do it? A benefits claimant who wants some extra cash on the side and who knows just about which end of a brush to hold, or a time served decorator running his own business?
