Laptop connection

hi, currently have two Dell desktop computers (ex school models 3 years old) at home running via cable modem with Ntl but believe its Virgin now.

i have just won a acer wireless laptop and wondered if i can have a system that retains the cable set up on the two desk tops but gives the laptop a wireless connection

Basically you need a wireless access point to extend your wired network. You plug the access point ( as albertross above indicates ) into the present setup and hopefully you will have wireless access.

I say hopefully as there are loads of technical reasons why it might not work.

I have found the Belkin equipment better for this as it sets itself up automatically. ( but still can go wrong ! )

I have instaled one of these but it can get techy. Suggest you call in a local independent IT specialist if it doesn't work out of the box.
