UC: Advance payment / budgeting advance

Just wanting to check something.

If you claim UC and received a advance payment before the first regular payment.

Can you still get a budgeting advance to replace a broken appliance even if the advance payment isn’t repaid?

No, you normally need to be on UC for six months before you can get a budgeting advance.

you can if
you’ve been getting Universal Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance or State Pension Credit for 6 months or more,
unless you need the money to help you start a new job or stay in work
you’ve earned less than £2,600 (£3,600 together for couples) in the past 6 months
you’ve paid off any previous Budgeting Advance loans

Its separate to an new claim advance or benefit transfer advance so it doesn't matter if you had any of these.

It did answer the question, but if you have been claiming for over six months then you can.

Maybe provide more info next time, as from your OP it sounded like a new claim.
