SSP / CB ESA confusion

Hello - I’m in a bit of a pickle!
I’ve been off work since Nov 2014 with stage 4 cancer.
I received 6 months full pay, 3 months half pay and then I claimed CB ESA as my employer said my sick pay was ending.
I started claiming the CB ESA and on a monthly basis they continued to pay me half pay for another 6 months as a goodwill gesture but this wasn’t clarified (I was in the throes of chemo and not exactly on the ball).
They’ve now been paying me SSP for the last 3 months ... I also receive the enhanced rate PIP but nothing else.
I’m worried I’ve been on the CB ESA for so long but still getting payments from work alongside it.
My disease is actually stable at the moment and my intention if at all possible is to go back part time in the New Year on a working from home basis.
Do I need to instruct my employer to end my SSP? I really don’t want to loose my CB ESA.
Many thanks
Sarah

Sorry, that should say off work since Nov 2017!0

If you've been off since Nov 2017, i.e. nearly 2 years, your SSP will have finished long ago. It's only payable for 28 weeks and you employer would have had to provide a form SSP1 to say when entitlement ceased in order for ESA to be paid.
If you are considering a phased return to work you will need to look at Permitted Work. There are rules around that and you would need to inform ESA and complete a form, preferably before starting work.0 -
Information on Permitted Work here https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/employment-and-support-allowance/while-youre-getting-esa/working-while-getting-esa/Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
