Help! Strange jumping mouse!

Can anyone help please?
We've recently bought a new PC and the mouse does strange things, leaping across the page, when we're not using it. It's really difficult to fill out forms, select answers etc., let alone very irritating.
Sometimes it jumps to top right and if you haven't noticed, you'll accidentally close the page:mad: .
We've uninstalled the mouse and reinstalled it. We've been given a new mouse from the supplier, all to no avail.
Any help gratefully received please.
TIA
Josie

Try using it on a plain piece of white paper (from your printer)
Often a shiny surface (table top) or coloured mousemat does this.0 -
