PE Carpet Underlay in Loft Roof?

I have a while load of cheap Carpet underlay like this:

Thinking of putting it in between the beams on the roof so I don't see the underside of the felt. It'll also stop spider webs (hopefully) and bits falling on my head when in there.
Will this trap moisture and cause a problem?

You'll want a breathable membrane that will allow moisture and a little bit of air to pass through. Carpet underlay will do neither. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Looks like it'll be for the bin then!
