PE Carpet Underlay in Loft Roof?

I have a while load of cheap Carpet underlay like this:

Thinking of putting it in between the beams on the roof so I don't see the underside of the felt. It'll also stop spider webs (hopefully) and bits falling on my head when in there.
Will this trap moisture and cause a problem?

You'll want a breathable membrane that will allow moisture and a little bit of air to pass through. Carpet underlay will do neither.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
