Just a toilet & sink in ensuite?

Hello,

We are doing our house up at the moment. It's a 3 bed but just the 2 of us in there. We had an ensuite with shower, sink, toilet and main bathroom with shower over bath, sink, toilet.

We had the thought to get rid of the ensuite and make the main bathroom slightly bigger to have a separate shower and make the reduced sized ensuite a walk in wardrobe instead.

What are people's thoughts on getting rid of the ensuite??

Someone suggested we just have a toilet and sink as an ensuite as well as a larger wardrobe area. But not sure whether it would be worth it....

Hmm....

Nah. A place without an ensuite is going to be worth a lot less than one with. If you're that hard up for storage, rent a storage locker. Don't devalue your house.

FTA: Why not use 3rd bedroom for walk in wardrobe?

    a) Do it in such a way that it can easily be reverted if you change your mind, ie don't remove services completely, cap them off.
    b) It's your house, do what you want with it.

If you have guests staying over or are thinking about children then an en-suite is invaluable.

I would keep the en suite.

Another one here who would definitely keep the en-suite. It's something many people aspire to. Given the choice between an en-suite & walk in wardrobe, I know what I'd be going for & it definitely wouldn't be a walk in wardrobe.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Agree, even if you dont use it extensively.... unless you are never going to move it will reduce value by taking it out.

Could you keep the en-suite and use the smallest bedroom as a walk-in wardrobe/dressing room?
