Green Star Energy unit rate incorrect on the Cheap Energy Club
I just wanted to add a correction on the details of Green Star Energy and the unit price given on their Standard PAYG tariff for prepayment meters via the Cheap Energy Club.
The Cheap Energy Club states that the unit rate is 3.553p per kWh and the standing charge is 35.753p per day. I received an annual gas summary from Green Star Energy in March of this year and their letter states that the per unit rate is 4.09p per kWh and their standing charge is 28.89p per day. Whether they have lowered their prices again I don't know, but I have not received any emails or letters that indicate this to be the case.

The tariff that you are on may be historical and not available to new customers. Have you ensured that both quotations refer to the same area and include VAT? Better to check with their website and other comparison sites before stating that the CEC is wrong.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.0 -
Yes, I have checked. The website tells me the same thing as the letter does, with my tariff being the Standard PAYG for prepayment meters. The CEC page however has all of my details and yet indicates that my current (standard PAYG) is more expensive per unit but cheaper for the standard charge. But It is not the only issue i have had.
Using the CEC website with all my details, I get a number of options for switching based upon those details and yet when I got to those sites, there is no option available for prepayment meters.
Baffling I know, but maybe it is just down to the suppliers not taking on new prepayment customers.0 -
You have informed CEC i hope .0
