Insurance to get daughter (and laptop) home

Hi
My daughter has been studying in the USA since last September and we took out an Endsleigh Study Abroad policy, with her laptop as a specified item, to cover her. We always new she intended to travel a bit when she finished the final term, so were never sure exactly when she would return. In the end we took the policy for 10 months which means it ends mid July. It now looks as though she will return about 1 week after the cover ends.
I have been in touch with Endsleigh who say they can't (or won't) extend the policy. (The policy does have an Emergency Extension Cover condition but only for reasons beyond your control).
It seems they can only offer a new policy (minimum one month) for something like £85 (original 10 month premium approx. £350) or a normal travel policy (with no specific laptop cover) for about £27 I think. (Only just thought of this but isn't travel insurance bought in the UK only valid if the journey starts in the UK?).
I guess I'm asking if anyone can suggest a policy which might cover 1 daughter + 1 laptop for her remaining week in the USA and her journey home and might cost less than £85? Could she try getting cover in the USA perhaps?
Thanks.

Well it looks like I may be able to get my daughter medical cover in the USA but not travel. It seems travel policies in the USA are only for trips starting/ending in the USA. Likewise UK ones start and end in the UK. (How does anyone emigrate?). I really don't want to go back to Endsleigh if possible so does anyone know of a specialist insurance company who can cope with a one way journey?0
