Hi guys, I can't believe we only have 2 days left before the grand opening of the sealed pots! Phil the Pig didn't quite make it to full but I'm confident that he's going to do my proud by hitting my guesstimate figure of £100. I'll be doing same next year, as I do this every year anyway, but I won't be joining the challenge, as I simply don't have the time to keep up with the thread.
Never mind, I'll still pop in now and again to see how everyone is doing and I'll certianly be here on Monday for the official openings!!
My poor piggy... it's going to be so sad! I may need to operate carefully so as to keep him intact. :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

:rotfl:Well done Stunty!!!! Maybe she'll take more notice of you with your weapon!!!sparky0107 wrote: »What a fantatsic place NY is, Sue you were right I was picking up any loose cents I found on the floor, but I did put them into the collection boxes that the salvation army were doing for the homeless people of the city :A . The downside is that my credit card went int meltdown lol (apparently it's the 'done thing') never mind I will have to re-do my snowball calc. Got to say the whole place was absolutely amazing, and we didn't want to come home.
Hiya Sparky and it's great to see you home again!!!! :j It was wonderful to read what a fantastic time you'd both had, and that given the chance you'd MOVE there as it's SO good. Oh well, I guess you could still continue with the challenge there!!!I thought what you did with the cents etc was terrific, good on you sparky, you're a gent!! :T
whatatwit wrote:I wonder if it would be worth you posting a message about the cashing of the coins.
The majority of banks/building societies will only let you change coins if you have an account with them and the ones that used to be building societies, eg Abbey & Halifax usually have a limit of 5 bags per day. Banks are usually ok about the amount of bags. Also bags should be full, a lot won't take part bags.
Welcome to the challenge whatatwit, I've put you on the list and you'll see your number on Tuesday on the new thread. Re the bags of money members have saved, we've actually covered this a few pages back and although a lot of folk are experiencing no problems at all others have had limits of 8 per day ....or going back in later!!!I saw a topic on another board saying that shop-keepers have to PAY  to get change from the banks, so we suggested that members first enquired at their local shops to see if they wanted the cash. Many thanks for your thoughts on it all, very much appreciated.
Surfbabe - Your target of £200 has been added, must remember to keep following DS & DD around when they're home, kids are a bit like slugs and always leave a trail!!! :snow_laug I've just added tonight's new members and that makes 58 additional members - so far!!!! I've been quite amazed, but I suspect it's the Challenge thread keep going back to the top of the page every time someone replies so folk can view it and be tempted, long may it last!Surfbabe - do you stick the balloon on a dish and make the piggies by doing the top first, then turning it round to do the bottom, but resting it on a pot or whatever??
A very warm welcome to the thread too_much_debt, schoolrunmum, gettingbetter and laurenjs88!!! It' so good to have so many wanting to join us. I've put you all on the list and you'll see your numbers on Tuesday. lauren, I loved your pot it's really well done, though I was so sorry to hear about your rotten ex pinching all your pennies, well rid of hom for sure! Oh to be that young again ....doesn't bear thinking of in a way
Everyone's targets have been added where applicable, all others can be done any time on or after Tuesday - IF you wish to!
Two more days of saving everyone, might be worth repeating .....and repeating and repeatingto OH's til they dig deep ....though make sure they don't do that in your pots - it HAS to be their pockets!!! :rotfl:;)
