Did you make this? If so how? I love it.

    Lol. x

I made both my Cash Cow and Phil the Pig using balloons and paper mache. If you scroll back through this forum, someone has also made 'Spot' the pig :)

Phil the Pig is for spare change, Cash Cow is for backup LOL

    evening everyone

I now have 60 coins and 1 5euro note in my tin :T a total of 20 euros..or £15 :j (am going to stop keeping track though - i want a surprise next year :p ) ... in a week thats pretty good i reckon.... especially as i am still putting into my other tins too..

I considered stopping doing my gold coin tin and the bronze coin tin and just doing the sealed pot.. but it would feel like cheating :rotfl: .....
I have also made a start on making my christmas presents for NEXT year :p .. have decided i am going to make as many presents as possible -knitting, x stitching, jewellery making and making flavoured spirits etc- so thought i had better make a start.... have done about 24" of my first scarf -and i only started yesterday afternoon :T .... so im going to be able to put even more in my sealed tin as i will have to spend less on pressies :D
    this is becoming addictive:j

    Hello MRSMCAWBER,
I thought you might be interested in this thread as well. It's a special MSE thread for upping your income / starting a cottage industry. In true MSE style, we all know that increasing savings and reducing expenses equates to a virtually increased income, so perhaps you might like to join this challenge too :) I call this one my Cyberdosh challenge as it's about making/saving money online.

    Hi there Nykmedia

Thanks for that, i have just been on and had a browse -very interesting ;)

I used to make jewellery and sell via e-bay but the competition with mass produced stuff just made it a waste of time.

X stitch is my big thing, but I generally do quite large ones and wouldn't dream of selling them for some of the prices you see on ebay  .....
but you have got me wondering about something else i might have a go at :D. Also a lot of stuff is sooo much cheaper out here... kitchen stuff - pastry cutters etc and the range so much better i may have a look into what sort of profit i could make :p
The extra problem i have is now being out in Germany... although as I use the post office on camp the postage charge will be the same as if i was in the UK... it would take a day or two longer to arrive  .

I am planning on getting rid of quite a few new clothes i got earlier in the year...and have never worn as i am doing the OS weight loss challenge....3 st 7lb gone so far :j but am waiting until after xmas when folks start looking for holiday clothes again ;) ... oooh you have my mind working overtime now...thankyou.. i think i may set up a seperate pot for anything i sell :D

thankyou for giving me a push in the right direction :D

  • I have started the sealed tin challange but not counting how much is going in. I am hoping for at least £100 next December as I managed the £75 jam jar challange this year and we did not start that so early. I will post on here and keep track of how everyone is doing. Best of luck:D
