I keep adding the change!
It does make my weekly budget go down fast though cos I use cash. I draw out £50 but then of course any change apart from notes/50p/£1 go in. And then I wonder where all my money has gone, lol!

Hello Everyone,
After being a serial lurker on here for a while, I thought I'd say hello and let you know I opened my pot up the other day (one of the tins from Poundland) and was shocked to say the least when I counted it........... £355.00 in £1 coins and 50p's. I'm still in shock and can't wait to start it up again.
The scary thing is I've got my Teramundi which I got as a birthday present 2 years ago and I'm saving just £2 coins in that and can't wait to find the total of that one. Any one any idea's how much they hold when full of £2 coins or do I need to wait for the surprise? I reckon it will take me a good wee while yet to fill this.
The crazy thing is although I feel I'm skint most of the time (3 giant sized teenagers to feed and clothe (the youngest is 14 and 6ft 3in and still growing!)
As for what I'm going to do with my money, well I'm currently an immature student just now, and hope to buy a house when I've graduated so I'm trying to save up a little bit of a deposit just now as I doubt I'll be able to get a 100% mortgage with the way the current forecast is.
So, to finish off, thanks for all the inspiration folks, and it just goes to show you if you shove a little away you don't actually notice and can get a very pleasant surprise like I did. It really made my day counting it and then taking it to the bank, although it was a bit weird cutting open the tin.0 -
I lovingly teased all the money out of mine the other day
and I had well over £200 in £2, £1 and 50p, and mine is only half full! Don't wanna smash itas it is pretty, so when mine is full, I'll be getting the knife back out again!

Sarah was it your posting I read where you sat shaking it for 7 hours or so to get the money out - if so I burst out laughing much to my kids amusement wondering what was going on. I did get mine out and have a look at it to see if it was possible, and handed it to my oldest and said how long do you reckon to empty with a knife? His answer, too long, now can I just get the hammer as it's quicker and we can split it 60/40 as you got a new one for your birthday this year away. True, and infact as I've not started that one I might just use it as the replacement for the one I've opened that way I'm saving money again and not spending it.
I can see where the addiction comes from in this thread.0 -

I think it probably took the best part of an hour, and my terramundi -holding arm was aching like hell afterwards!'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -
