  • I feel really optimistic today that at last I've found a challenge I can succeed with:j . What could be easier for a hopeless case like me than to just bung spare change into a tin without even having to count or do calculations or anything:rotfl:.

In true DFW style I'm not going to spend anything on a pig or fancy tin and I've even scrapped the idea of asking for a terramundi for Christmas. I've had a good rummage round the house and have unearthed a few suitable tins even though none of them will hold enough for a whole year (I'm maybe living in a dream world here:rolleyes: ) but they'll do to start off with.

Am not going to count or weigh the coins but have already emptied my purse and the oddments at the bottom of 2 handbags into the first tin. Amounted to a good handful of coins although they looked mostly copper-coloured:eek: .

Things can only get better from now on!:j :j :j
Thanks for starting this challenge mumzyof2:beer:

OK I've started. Have decided to save all change of 20p and under, plus £2 coins. Will add £2 coins to same sealed pot, as usually I am tempted to spend them. Good luck with the challenge everyone.
  • i have empty pockets cause all my shrapnel has gone into my jar. its a little sad looking, but it'll grow.....

  • I've found all the £1 coins I had lying about, and my tin is now christened with £19.

    Hope everyone does well.

Ouch, everyone's tearing along in fine style already. I got impatient and decided to weigh 'Phil the Pig' again. He has gained 790g since this morning!!! My guess is that this will be exceptional, as I spent some time rounding up all the spare change I could find lying around the house :)

Everyone is off to a good start :T

Well i ended up in a quandry today... hubby owed me 15euros for my latest weight loss..and he gave me 7 2euro coins  ..and then sat laughing as he knows i collect them too and got in a right tizz over which tin to put them in :rotfl: ...
In the end i put them in the 2euro tin and put 15 euros in notes in my weight loss tin from my purse :p .......
got another 14 euros back for the deposit tin... and finally have deposited some money into my "sealed tin" too:j

I can see there being lots of disappointed OH out there..when they get home and we all jump on them.. but only because we want the change for our tins :rotfl:

Hmm... that IS a good idea, MRSMCAWBER, especially as 2008 is a leap year! Secure an OH in the February 29th one day 'sale' for the purposes of pocket-dipping! ROFL

Love the pig he is fab, after some succes with the change jar challenge (am guilty of dipping into it at times) i would like to join this one if i may. Am in need of a sealed pot though so dd aged 15 is going to make me one as my local pound shop had none.
