I understand what albertross is saying, and i kind of agree that i would be able to pay off my debts quicker if instead of saving a pound here and there, i reduced my debts by this much.
However, i cant bear the thought that i dont at least have a tiny amount of money squirrelled away in case of emergencies, or for treats (in whatever form) should there be no problems throughout the year.
Also it gives me a bit of a boost knowing that as well as paying off debts, im also saving a little...which is something i hope to do a lot more of once the loan, overdraft and credit card have been paid off!
Always nice to have a debate about something though! =DBack and ready to save some money!0 -
Ta lots mumzy! I now have a number, hopefully a sig and deffo a cold bath because its taken me ages with a slow comp and and equally technophobic brain.
Just a thought - do I need to post an amount I am aiming for or can I just have a very pleasant suprise in a years time?Grocery spends £193.44/ £70 per week or £303 per month0 -

Please can I see what their faces look like if you ever do go in with the payment in 2p pieces :rotfl: :T
Back when the rates were changed to Poll Tax in Scotland (a year before England, if I remember correctly) and all the trouble started with people not being able to afford it the local office HAD to accept payments in whatever form they were paid. Does anyone remember the man with the wheelbarrow pushing his giant whisky bottles full of coppers all the way to the council building? He'd saved them for ages and they came in handy at that point - made the national news, too. Now THAT'S what I call amusing. :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.

Dear old albert just doesn't seem to get the point of this challenge!
I don't care about the 6% i will get on 1p, its fun, i have made a few friends because of this thread and seeing your paper mache animals (and laughing when i thought your house was covered in paper mache due to that balloon) is more important to me!Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Some folks just see the debt in the siggy, and dont think we should have any fun or treats :mad:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:
