PIP - additional sheets?

Just wanted to ask.

I’m helping my mum with her PIP and we have a lot of examples and information relating to how her daily life and activities are affected so we will need to type additional information.

Is it acceptable to write in the boxes “please see additional attached sheet”?.

Then just make sure each sheet has name, NI number and the question it’s referring to on the sheet?

Comments

  • Yes thats fine, but careful to only describe the care and mobility issues, have you researched the "descriptors" that apply to PIP?

Completely acceptable and much easier for them to read if it's been typed up. Furthermore if you do it on a computer and keep it this then forms the starting point for updating the notes next time you have to do a renewal form! As you say each sheet should have name and NI number and notes should be clear as which question they refer to. Any supporting evidence (send copies, not originals) should also have NI number and name on it.

I wonder; is it acceptable to put zero information for each question aside from the "see additional notes" then present the whole answer as a typed up page? Or would they expect us to hand write the first part and only the extra typed?

It's fine just to put "see attached notes" in the box (or leave blank if there are no issues with that descriptor).

Yes thats fine, there is just alot of examples of where my mum needs helps, struggles, relies on aids, that need to be covered, I thought it was best to give a full and clear picture than to leave things out?

I started filling in my PIP form by hand but then typed up the rest and stapled separate printed out sheets for each descriptor I thought applied to me. Have had no issues.
  • Thanks. I’m just typing my mums and welfare support at the local authority have agreed to read them for me.
