Are you saying that your father was the sole proprietor of the property which he left to his children but with a right to reside to his spouse?
Or are you saying that your father and his wife were tenants-in-common of the property on a 50/50 basis and he left his children his 50% interest but with a right to reside to his wife?

The wife being on the land registry is just the legal ownership, you need to track the beneficial ownership.
YOU need to go back to his will and check the beneficial ownership
Did she have any beneficial interest at that point?
If she was left a life interest in part or all the house there should be another living legal owners acting as trustee.0 -
