The £434 one from the first post no longer seems available, even though it showed something like 5 in stock before. Amazon now shows a less strangely priced one from another seller at the same link.

Wonder if it wasn't legit and something spooked them, or if 5 forum readers got a great deal Either way, the point is moot for me.

I decided yesterday to pass that seller by anyway – I couldn't see how a scam would have worked, but the risk that something was off combined with the hassle if it's not delivered (and I take time off work to receive delivery and so on) outweigh the theoretical savings.

When I was looking for a freezer I thought AO were expensive.

I think you had a lucky escape, best off sticking with tried and tested sellers / businesses.
