I bought a PS4 from game on Friday 219 pound I set it up today and 4 time randomly when playing it has turned its self off. If I take it back with receipt and all content will they just swap it or am I intilted to a full refund? I have checked the settings and there is no standby setting. This was over 5 hours it cut off after random times not the same time each time.. where do I stand please.

They're entitled to replace or repair it in the first instance. After that (if the repair or replacement is still faulty) you can reject it for a full refund.

Other than a change of mind why wouldn't you just accept a replacement?

Does it have adequate ventilation...ie it's not sitting on the carpet?

If it's random they will find it very difficult to prove your claim so a refund will be denied.


They would want to first have it tested to confirm your claim, once and if confirmed then yes, you are entitled to a refund under the short time right to reject faulty goods.

I don't want a refund just wasn't sure if it was a refund or replacement. It isn't on carpet ect. It was on shelf

Does the back and 2 sides have clear ventilation eg is anything blocking the 3 sides ?

Take it back for a refund and see what they say, I suspect a replacement will be offered. Just be polite about it.

As mentioned they may test it so only take it back if your absolutely sure its not due to the console not having good air ventilation.
