Lights not working in combined ceiling fan/light

The fan/light has 3 bulbs, seems unlikely all 3 would go at once. The fan still works so power is getting to it so presumably there is no problem with the switch. Do I replace the bulbs first and call an electrician if that doesn't work or is it likely to be something else anyway and I call the spark first? It was installed before I bought the house and I've never used the fan anyway so in some ways maybe better to ditch it all and just get a replacement light?

I’d have replaced the bulbs (or even one of them) before making this post...
However, I agree it is unlikely that all three would go at once, unless there was a power surge at a point it time, and so much more likely to be a wiring problem. If it’s worth anything and you want to keep it, call an electrician to see if they can fix it.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

There will be a light switch and a fan switch on the fan so it can operate as a light only/fan only/both.0

What an idiot I am, i flicked the switch on the fan then the light switch and bingo - the lights work. Many many thanks. Grandkids must have fiddled with it and I hadn't realised. What would I do without MSE??!!!0
