You said you signed a couple if pieces of paper, did you carefully read these pieces of paper? It sounds like you signed for a new car, they don't just order cars for people who make enquiries.0

Do you actually have a copy of whatever you signed?
Are you absolutely sure that you did not order the car?
It would seem odd that if, for example, you had enquired about finance and the dealership had said words to the effect that they can't check your eligibility for finance now but would do so the next day and get back to you, that they never did. or quite why the credit search appeared 2 months later. What sort of search was it? A soft search or a hard application search? Did you provide them with all the details that you would expect to provide when making an application for credit?
What did the e-mail actually say beyond 'we have news about your new car'? Is that it? Nothing else. Any direct reference to your order or your finance agreement?
It is not beyond the bounds of possibility that, if the OP had really ordered a new car and had been told that there was a three month delay in delivery, that they were not contacted during the three month period However, why they would not have been contacted if their application for credit had been successful is not clear, unless they were told 'we will contact you if there is a problem'. But having said that it appears odd that no deposit was paid.0 -
What happened when you called up to ask how your order was progressing if you say you didn't hear anything ? Dont tell me you didn't bother or just sat there waiting for the phone to ring, surely not ?"We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0

No one can help you unless you tell us exactly what you signed. Whether the salesman kept you informed or not is completely irrelevant. Their sole purpose is to get your signature on an order form: everything else is secondary. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

That wasnt my point, and yes all customers are updated, but also most people that have ordered a new car like to also call and get updates too, I have never had anyone not bother for 3 months.
Bad from both points of view I think, customer and dealer.Baby Step 6/7 . £16000 saved and invested. £47,000 deposit paid on new home DEBT FREE !!!
Currently Negotiating with HMRC !0 -
I doubt you ordered a car and you're not aware of it. You would sign order form, confirm spec, colour, etc. It's not something that happens in the background and you're not aware of it.
Also, next time, use carwow, drive the deal or similar website. You won't have to go to dealership, everything will be done remotely and in most cases car will be delivered to your door. Not to mention getting decent discount without negotiating face to face.0 -

It sounds like the dealership was going to carry out a credit check and promised to call the customer back, they then either never bothered calling or didn't carry out the check. Either way I can say this is the kind of dealer I would be chasing myself. If they can't carry out a simple credit check and call him back then I'm not sure I would have much confidence in them placing an order for a new car."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
Majorlook.
