HSBC credit card

I applied for credit card I got letter saying in order to progress your application we need check some details with u and call up the HSBC credit card line so I did and they ask me to go in Branch with ID and proof of address that’s then mean I have been accepted?

    It means they need to do some final checks. If you pass those, you should be accepted.

    It usually a good sign, but in my experience nothing is certain until you get your card. ID checks are just as important as the credit checks.

    Sounds like it's needed for compliance with anti-money laundering regulations. That's the usual reason for this. As long as you are who you say you are and aren't planning to do anything naughty, it shouldn't be a problem.

    About 2 years ago I applied for an HSBC credit card - i aleady had an advance current account with them

    i got the same request to go into branch with ID

    I had better things to do and wasn't particulatly desperate for the card (i applied because they were giving €25 if you used it) so I ignored the request and about a month later the card arrived anyway
