Cashplus Withold Payment In

I wonder if anyone can give me some advice.
The pre-paid card company Cashplus have not yet credited a payment from the DWP of several thousand pounds. It is for benefit arrears owed to me, apparently going back several years.
I wasn't expecting it (!) and actually got the DWP letter the day after Cashplus contacted me (phone)
I sent Cashplus an email as requested on Friday ("remittance advice" they called it) but the money hasn't gone into my account yet (Monday).
Is this a normal thing with payments from the government? I would have thought there can be no doubt from whence it came.
Thanks.

Why don't you call Cashplus before they all go home for the day and ask then what is happening?0

I was planning to call them at 6pm.
I was just wondering about the whys/wherefores of the situation in general. CS gave me the reason already (unusual amount) but I don't see why it matters when it's from government.0 -
I wonder if maybe they thought that there could have been a error and wanted to check that you were actually expecting that amount before crediting it in case DWP realised their error and wanted it back the moment that you had withdrawn it.
You say that this payment was unexpected and that Cashplus telephoned you before you had received any correspondence about it from DWP. I am wondering exactly what you said to Cashplus when they first contacted you about this very large unexpected payment that had been received from DWP.0 -

Yes, that's a good point! I hadn't thought of that, thanks.
On your edit... I wasn't expecting it on that day, but it was on the cards and I didn't know how much it would be for. Cashplus left a voice message so I had time to realise what had occured before I actually called them.0
