Car Insurance - FluxDirect

My mother recently took out a policy with Flux Direct and it's due to start on the 12th Oct. However they have already created some issues with documents etc and we are a bit concerned. When we tried to cancel they have said that she will need to pay a fee even though she is within the 14 day cooling off period and the policy has not yet started. Is this accurate?

Thanks

They was 160 pounds for cancellation of the policy even before the box has been fitted
  • What are the document issues?
Insurers are doing a lot more checks these days, so just go along with what they're after and all will be well.

They'll take a chunk if you cancel due to lost commission, admin fees etc - probably best just to follow the process

I had the same last year, had to jump through hoops and hurdles to supply all the relevant information.

You can do it online from memory think theres 7 to fill in or declare. Off hand mileage at start of cover and NCD from previous insurer and the 5 other things, sadly i cant get at it as its filled in last year.
Renewal 2 months ago was around 15% cheaper now thats a first for insurers.

I wont have a black box either.

Not so, premiums are falling generally https://www.moneysupermarket.com/car-insurance/price-comparison-index/

And have in the past (2012-2014). It's a very competitive market.
