Thermostat settings kicked by changing battery..?

I have a Drayton programmable wireless thermostat (Digistat+3RF) controlling my central heating and it's now time to change the batteries.
The user instructions are coy about the issue but I suspect that doing so will wipe all the time period and temperature settings already applied.
Does anyone know otherwise?

I do not have a Drayton but my Salus programmable stat does not lose the time or programmed settings when the batteries are changed.
If you insert the new batteries immediately after removing the old ones there is no loss of data as the voltage is held up by a capacitor for several minutes.
I would expect all makes to do the same.0 -
Many thanks for that. Somehow it seemed odds-on that I'd have to start again from scratch.0

I had a +2RF and can confirm that changing the batteries did not delete the settings.0

Those Drayton controller setting menus can sometimes be a bit mesmerising to navigate through,...especially when you haven’t done it for a while.
Your ‘AA’ batteries need changing;...do it sooner rather than later,...especially with Mr Frost getting closer by the day.:eek:0 -
Ditto centre thermostat which is Honeywell, no loss of settings.0

I have one of these thermostats, just get the new batteries whacked in and you'll be fine. Don't panic if you see the display fading out before they're in.0 -
Same as above we've got one of those (although not currently in use) and you have a few (undetermined) minutes to switch batteries with no issue. We had an earlier Drayton controller that did the same.0
