We do lots of stuff for Christmas, but the real tradition is as follows:
Each of our girls chooses a coloured ball of wool, which is then tied to their bedposts and left outside their bedroom door.
When they are asleep, we wind the wool all over the flat, inside cupboards/washing machine/etc, and at the end of it we tie their stockings on and put them in a hiding place. We tell them that Santa has done it.
When they wake up (musn't get out of bed until 7.30am) they have to follow the wool, slowly winding it back up into a ball - no cheating!
Sounds a bit mad but they love it! My mum started this when we were kids, apparently to give her a bit of a lie-in, and I am delighted to carry it on, although I always get up with them to enjoy the fun.0 -

We leave the mince pie, milk and carrot out for Santa and rudolf on christmas eve, and they have their stockings at the end of the bed, my heart stops when i have to creap in and put the filled stockings back in their rooms, never been caught yet.
We then have them both in our room in the morning to open their stockings after we all go downstairs so they can open their presents.
One of my family traditions, is we have tree pressents, which are just small presents and after dinner and tea on christmas, the children are allowed to open one each, i like to keep some for boxing day too, so they still have a couple of pressies to open.
And because DH lets me do that we have taken on one of his family traditions and that is that he thinks that why they are young and believe in santa that a couple of the presents from us are from santa himself, as well as the stockings. So we normally have a little row while wrapping the presents and deciding if they are from santa or us. As last year baby annabel was a pressent from santa and i was like 'ohhhhh i want her to know we brought her that not santa' so santa is the greatest in our house and gets all the thanks - hee hee (which is nice) but he can never see my point of view thou.0 -

We also do the tree presents thing, which is nice as it kind of elongates the whole Christmas thing. All of our presents to DD come from Santa, so far she hasn't twigged that mummy and daddy buy her nowt!0 -
