Temp fix for leaking slate roof

Hi,
Our roof is leaking (will try and attach photo) and our usual roofers are booked up for next few weeks. Am trying to find an alternative tradesman (they're obviously all very busy in light of weather)

In the meantime, is there anything we can do to minimise damage without having to scale the roof? DH has put a bucket under leak and has also been running the dehumidifier up there.
Thanks in advance
