Second Faulty Thermostat

Hi there

So I have a smart thermostat like the nest stuff you see from a company called lightwaverf.

I bought this back in 2015 and after 11 months it went faulty all the lights lit up and it did nothing.

I went back to the vendor who immediately dispatched a replacement and told me dispose of the old one (I haven't its in the shed still broken.)

Fast forward three years and the new one had broken in exactly the same way so there clearly is a fault with these units.

I have gone directly to the supplier and they have told me pretty much tough luck as its out of warranty despite my points that its a premium device so it should be last more than 1-3 years...

Im just wondering where I stand with this and what the best next steps are?

Thanks

Dan

Is this one of the radiator thermostat, or one of their other products?

If it's a rad stat, then Sub £50 is hardly in the
    premium device range.

Might be better biting the bullet & getting Hive or nest system.

I agree that it should probably last longer than three years, but you will probably find that three years is reasonable as far as consumer law is concerned. With all their kit being around the £50 or less mark I would not regard it as premium, their boiler switch and thermostat together are £45, the equivalent product from Nest is £190 and £180 from Hive, those are premium products.
