Bad tiling job

Hi, last year we refurbished our bathroom.
Couple of week ago the down stairs bathroom was flooded, and the ceiling wet.
We called the plumber, and to our surprised it wasn’t a plumbing problem, but a tiling problem.
So we contacted the person who did the job, which agreed to come and have a look. He also agreed to re-do the tiling.
Now the problem is: we didn’t end up in a nice way, he took 3 months to do the bathroom and a build wardrobe in our daughter’s room.
I delayed the payment, which I gave to him at the end.
But now I’m worry is going to mess around with us, as of course this won’t get him any money but just spend time.
What can I do? Can I ask some else to do the job and send him the invoice?
Thanks for your help.

Why was it a tiling problem?
I'd personally rather pay someone else to do it properly.
I'd never employ the same person to tile a bathroom and build wardrobes. They're totally different specialist skills. You haven't employed a specialist and therefore haven't ended up with a great job. What makes you think he'll do it properly this time if it took three months to do a bad one? You're either skilled or you aren't.
Do it properly, do it once (or twice now, but no more!). Otherwise it isn't just the initial problem, it starts to knock on and cause more damage.
Would I expect the original person to pay for a proper job from someone else? No. They're entitled to put right what they did. I think I'd need to consider what part I played by not doing proper homework on them in the first place and learn the lesson and get a proper tiler in.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
