Just been rescued by CAA from package holiday with TC flights. Holiday with Olympic holidays paid by cc but flights not shown as a separate item so don't know the cost,. However when I looked at booking flights and hotel separately I think the return flight was about £250

What loss did you suffer that you wish to claim for?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
What would you be claiming for? I’m presuming Olympic holidays got you a flight home?0

The CAA got me a flight home not Olympic. I'd be claiming for the Thomas Cook flight I'd paid for but didn't receive with meal and reserved seat etc. According to Simon Calder in yesterday's i newspaper ppl who'd just booked TC flights alone and who got a free flight home at taxpayers expense even though they had no atol protection can claim back the cost of TC flight from cc company so I wondered if I could.0 -
Was this not covered in your previous thread asking about compo?

Be glad you got a free flight home. Greed is a horrid trait.0

You need to be clear in your post. Your post said you booked a package holiday.0

So you got a flight home when legally they didnt have to, yet you want to claim for a service not received?
Dear god.
Did Simon Calder really say that in the paper?0 -

Ah yes. Clearly he didnt like all the people not replying with what he wanted to hear so decided to try his luck again. Going the same way, isnt it?0 -
So got a free flight home and now wants to claim the cost of the flight back, beggars belief, was going to say compo gone mad but this is pure greed.
Whilst i admire the goverment/atol getting everybody home, when you read things like this it might have been better to have left the flight only people behind so as they had to pay to get home0 -
He mentions "package holiday" though, assuming this is true ATOL are only going to be refunding package holidays that started on or after the 23rd September, so he has no chance in hell of getting a penny out of them anyway.
I am more bemused that Simon Calder would even suggest such a recourse of action tbh. Can only assume the OP has misread this.0
