Project;lets get this sorted.

Ok hi guys,

so i have had a torrid time with credit over the years but currently i have a few CCJ's etc and im just wondering where i start..

I have THREE CCJ's on my credit file, one from 2019, one from 2018 and one from 2017. On the accounts section i have a few with "lowell" which i have a feeling three of these are the CCJ accounts - one even has the exact same amount showing.

I also have a credit card with capital one which appears to still show as active, im going to call them to see what i can do about getting that sorted and back on track and maybe see if i can have the credit card back - when i sign into my online account it says to call them and shows no account, does this mean my account is closed or what?

Its no real excuse but my mother has been seriously ill over the last 2-3 years with cancer and my head has been buried in the sand with a lot of this.

Is it worth repaying any of the three CCJ accounts at all OR does it make no difference? I know they will drop off after 6 years but will it help improve my credit score if i repay them and get them "satisfied" or is it pointless?

I have attached some screenshots below...

Settling the CCJs will always look better than not.

Your CRA credit score might drop but it's the lenders you need to be thinking about.

For me, the impact of settling the CCJ on your credit file is marginal. This is because the CCJ itself is extremely toxic, whether or not it is settled.

You should settle your CCJs, because if you do not, then the creditors could seek enforcement (even if the accounts have 'dropped off' your credit file)

Settling the ccj's if you can would be a good idea but in the short to medium term will not really assist you in obtaining further credit.
You will probably have to sit out the 6 years before you can get any mainstream cards.
Not sure how you got yourself into this unfortunate situation, but you need to forget about obtaining further credit and concentrate on resolving the root cause of your problems, whatever that may be.

Why did the CCJs occur ?

Can you afford to pay them off ?
  • They simply occured because i was in and out of work and unable to make payments at the time.

I can afford to pay them off now over the next few months as my position is different.

As for them seeking enforcement, highly unlikely they will get anywhere as its not commercial debt and its not criminal to have a CCJ either.
  • Why do your think they won’t seek enforcement?

No one said anything about it not being criminal - that doesn’t mean they can’t seek enforcement

Your creditors will have a variety of enforcement measures available to them. It is not advisable to continue to 'bury your head in the sand'. It won't miraculously go away...

  • Obviously not, hence me posting this on here saying i am willing to resolve them, SHOULD i resolve them - you hear/read all sorts of opinions.

If you read what i put further up - i was asking for opinions on IF i should repay them, if they are worth repaying will it make any difference etc etc etc.
