apple watch has a problem and they don't budge at apple!!!

Had an apple watch sent to me by my brother from dubai last year as a gift and was bought from the apple store there. He explained that it was going to be used in the UK and if everything would be OK. he was reassured that everything will be fine and after all it has an international warranty to cover that. The watch was working fine until the ECG app was launched which is something that does traces for the heart function. it didn't show on this watch and when taken to the app store they said it is a dubai watch and this app is blocked there and hence they can not help. this was very frustrating to me because this was one thing I wanted desperately. any ideas what I can do?

Search on Google lots of posts to fix may work or not .
Ask your brother to ask of the vendor as he is the one with any consumer rights .
Could be that it is a function of the Dubai firmware .0 -
Sell it for what you can and buy a U.K. model that has the feature you want. Apple are not under any obligation to do anything for you. You are not the purchaser and they are not the retailer. The app situation isn't a fault so won't be covered by the international warranty.0 -
It's quite common for products to have different available functions depending on where it was purchased. Just moving it to a different location will not mean functions suddenly become available.0
