Solution to unsightly gas meter box?

I have unsightly Gas Pipes feeding my meter and boiler in the pantry along with some loose wires, i have had several people in to find a possible solution including Cadent and British Gas.
The local council properties have had this internal meter cupboard bricked up on the inside and the gas pipe moved onto the driveway but this is a problem for me because i have a channel drain on the outside giving me no option but to leave the gas pipe inside.
The only way this gas pipe can reach into the meter box is by going through a broken hole in the bottom.

Ant ideas or possible solutions please!

If you took the door/frame off and replaced it with a slightly deeper one, it wouldn't need to be broken at the bottom. Or take the frame off, fit a timber batten round the opening to move the frame out, and refit the frame. Or remove the frame and door completely and replace with a new one made of wood. Any competent joiner should be able to make a suitable cupboard front to go over it, or you might be able to cut down a kitchen cupboard or ikea unit.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

That is a good idea and would prevent the kids from getting to those loose wires which worries me. Did not even consider the carpentry route.Enjoy everyday like it's your last!0 -
The pipes are the wrong sides if the meter is facing into the room, do they cross over inside then ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
I would build either a freestanding cover or a cupboard, it's not as if the meter cupboard is accessed more than once a month.0
