TA, we use our window vac almost exclusively in the shower, it avoids the limescale marks although that isn't a problem in Yorkshire.0

Morning all
It's just overcast here but I have no need to go out so that's fine.
Mr Fix It isn't feeling great this morning, in fact he slept downstairs last night as he was complaining about a spinning head and feeling sick. I have told him to put his feet up today....... or else !
I have no plans either, except to list the toys stored on top of the wardrobe in the spare room as DD and I have forgotten what has already been been bought . I shall send the list to DD as she is in charge of the DGC's toy purchasing on our behalf this year ( I'll just pay).
There are lots of leftovers from yesterday so we will have a pick and mix from the fridge day. The tart was mmmmmmmmmmm  and there's also 2 slices left. I don't think Mr Fix It should have any if he's feeling a bit sick.
TA we have a Ka*cher but I still love using Window*ene although I've had to dilute my last bottle as it was extremely thick. Maybe it's the smell which reminds me of my late Mum doing her windows when I was small
Molly41 glad your DH is on his way home to you.
Nelski good luck with Alexa. Ours has a life of her own and talks away to herself, she usually says " I don't know that one " out of the blue . Blummin scary, especially late at night ! Dad can't even remember her right name .... Elisha, Alice, Amelia etc, when he just wants to know the time :rotfl:( and there's a clock straight in front of him )
Scarlett our Morries has altered all it's goods about and everyone is complaining as they can't find anything. I think they've updated the store to keep up with the new Al*is, which is always busy.
Camelot I think those Americans are always very polite and helpful. Once they offered to clean our car and I got the impression that thy would have done it, suited or not.
Gers Wakey! Wakey! brings back memories too and I can still picture him saying it ! Now if I could only remember where I've put things or appointment dates, I'd be laughing :rotfl:
Take care all, hugs winging their way to those in need.

Afternoon all..Got back last night to a very chilly house, the weather has really turned in the last week. We had a bad weather warning for the day of the funeral, but as soon as we left the church to go to the cemetery it was bright sunshine and no clouds and while we were at the cemetery, a double rainbow appeared which was lovely. He went into the same plot as my mother so they are and will be forever together but my sister did say, wonder how long it is before they start arguing
It's been an exhausting time, with one thing or another so I'm having a couple of weeks at home before i go back, both to recharge and to implement lessons I have and will be learning about posessions and hoarding 'just in case it's useful' and to take the garden down for winter.
It's weird being an orphan now, I feel as if I have to properly grow up now, there is no safety net now, no one to ask how to do things, or be there in case. There was a safe harbour and now there's not.
Luckily my sister and I get on quite well, apart from the odd spat, but we haven't had major arguments about what to do with things, or how we're going to proceed.
We have been a few times to the dump and a to a local charity to drop things off but this hasn't even made an appreciable difference to the amount of stuff left hence going back again to organise various things. It's going to take a while...
She also has to give some though to what she's going to do because she'll have to come home to an empty house now, and in the winter, when it's rubbish, and the coal fire is the only thing that heats the house, it's going to be depressing and too much work for her to do. but at least she has options.I'm going to worry about her a lot I think.
But we did everything we were supposed to do, did everything the way he would have wanted us to do it i.e. in the proper approved traditional manner, so we have honoured him in that sense.
I expect it'll affect us more now that the dust has settled so to speak, we aren't rushing round everywhere now so we're going to have to time to mourn.
Nelski, two replacements?! You are one super strong lady! TA thanks for your [and everyone elses] thoughts, I hope my troubles didn't hurt you too much with brining up memories..And I hope you get an answer for your legs soon...Gers, congrats on the time at home, sounds like you have been putting this off for a while, glad to hear there's a solution, even if it'll be uncomfortable for a while..wotcha nannysnoozer, have a look at the pinch of nom website for meal ideas, there's plenty of inspiration there...red ruby, sorry to hear your foot is playing up still, I'm all for voting for less time at work and more time with loved ones...or yourself! camelot, where are these americans in suits kept? I could definitely do with some of those....Scarlet, that sounds like a definite vote for a please yourself day
Hope you're OK SO...

Afternoon all. We have had some sunshine here today bit it has cloided over now but still dry. We have been to the supermarket this morning for a few bits and pieces.
DH is now fiddling with the tv as we seem to have lost channel 5. I am enjoying a cuppa and closing my ears lol.
It is DH's club's model railway exhibition tomorrow and he is going over at 5pm to help set it up
Then he will be there all day tomorrow.
Nice to see you posting taff. Glad the funeral went well. Have a hug from me.

It's nice to have you back with us TAFF and it was good to hear the funeral went as well as it could. With the bonus of decent weather as well. Take the time back at home to relax and importantly grieve. You have earned a rest xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Welcome back taff - good to hear that all went well.
I've arrived back in bonny Glasgow, have unpacked and got the washing machine on already. On the way I dropped into the Metro Centre to buy a mattress topper from Marks. Both the beds I slept in this week were not as firm as mine so my hip and knee were not so sore in the morning. Hopefully this topper will do the trick!
Off to put my feet up now.0 -
A late post from me, welcome back ~taff, you must be exhausted. Hoping you can have some time to rest and be still.
Gers, I haven't said but you are very brave to have both hips done at the same time, you will get it over in one go.
This ki g of all those who are struggling or worried at present.
My good things for today have been going shopping and getting all the things on my list and bumping into a friend. I got two loads of washing g done and they got partly dry, now on the airer I doors, I'm ha ING fish fingers for dinner, woohoo not even my birthday!
I have had a bit of a difficult week so today has been a great relief.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Good to see you back Taff. Try and rest for a while, you need it after the last few weeks.
TA, I found my window vac did that streaking thing on the windows, until I used more water. Put more water on and see how it goes.0 -

AOD - I'm not having both done, it was Nelski who has had two hip replacements. I hope I don't need the other one done though the right knee might be next!
Sorry you've had a tough week, please take some time to relax if possible.

Very late, we had a long lunch to celebrate DS2 girlfriend's birthday , home in a rush to have living room chimney cleaned......so much soot!
-taff, good to see you back, take time to rest and grieve.
It has been a wet day here, no lawn cut , no garden tidied, no bulbs planted.....I would like a few fine days and the energy to use them.
Molly.......good to know that you OH is on his way home.
AOD......the last time I ate fish fingers I was very disappointed and four year old granddaughter said that she wouldn't have any as she only liked "real fish"!
Very tired, have a good weekend my dear friends.
