Was watching an episode of a US TV show last night and there was an advert for Experian Boost.

Don't think it's available in the UK, but thought some of you might like to have a look and berate them

The thing is though, is that your score actually means something in the USofA...So the boost could be relevant to someone about to make an application for credit...I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

Have read the Experian article.
From the article it would appear that utility providers, telephone sertvice providers and cable tv providers don't report to the CRA's in the US and Experian are offering individuals to have these reported by allowing Experian access to their bank accounts in order to identify such payments and report them.
As such providers do tend to report in the UK such a facility would probably be unnecessary.
Personally, I think I would have an in-principal objection to giving Experian access to my bank account and no doubt harvest all sorts of information from it. Beyond that though, all sorts of possible potential pitfalls come to mind0 -
I don't have a full report but when I look at the free ones, I don't see any mention of Bulb Energy / Virgin Media or even my car insurance on my files, I wonder if that means they don't report or do I need to get the full report?0

They may not report, or they may not report to the CRA report you're looking at, but to one of the others.0

VM definitely report to Equifax. I have an active account that is being reported.0

Virgin Media do report.
Bulb do not.0 -

Was it really necessary to hijack the thread with this?
