Chancel Repair Liability Indemnity Insurance Provider

Hi there,
I am a newbie here, and I hope someone can help me.
I am looking for a Chancel Repair Liability Indemnity Insurance provider to whom I can go directly and take a policy out.
My Solicitor has provided a quote for £75 (through ChancelSure) plus £75 arrangement fee. The quote seems high, and I am looking for alternative options.
Many thanks in advance.

Don't bother - there isn't a church in the land that will pursue this even if they could prove it.
The Aston Cantlow case was such bad publicity that no church will want to repeat.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
If it's necessary at all - the price sounds about right. The vast majority of indemnity insurance providers only deal via solicitors - too much hassle for them to deal directly with punters and be responsible for selling them appropriate products etc.0

I agree with Robin that it is pointless, but if you do want a policy it's the sort of thing that's only available to solicitors. They don't sell to the general ublic.0

i think you should ask god for advice, he should know if he is going to claim or notAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0

I'm shocked they are charging you a separate fee for arranging it! I've never known a solicitor to do that. Yes the policy costs, but to charge you for filling out a form is disgusting!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0

Pretty commonplace for additional fees to apply for things like this - normal pricing practice these days is for a basic fee and then add-ons for every complication. It's not just the time "filling in a form", it's also having all the discussion around it with the other party and the client (and their lender).MovingForwards wrote: »I'm shocked they are charging you a separate fee for arranging it! Sorry to break the news but if you're over 10 you need to know the truth - these invisible bods you never really see? They're not actually real...........0 -
I've just bought one (or my solicitor did for the house we were buying) and the cost was £14. The company is First Title Insurance plc"If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

£15.95 but states due to FCA regulations it has to go through a solicitor. Contact other solicitors for an arrangement quote.
"Please Note: Due to FCA regulations, we are unable to provide these policies direct to consumers.
Your legal advisor should check that this policy is suitable for your needs. Failure to do this could result in the policy not meeting your requirements."0
