Hello, I’ve been trying to work this out but am getting stuck so am asking for some guidance.
I have a tv with you view box, an outdoor ariel, connected to a booster (Wolsey, left by the previous occupant) and I also have a 4g channel 59 filter before the ariel goes into the you view box.
I have recently moved into the house which is under a flightpath, the planes go over about 1500 feet.
When a plane goes over the tv picture pixilates, stops and stutters. Often the black screen comes on saying there is a problem. Sound sometimes continues.
The problems are worse in wet weather and happen on the worse channels when the planes are not overhead. Some channels are worse (bbc generally better than itv and most freeview and hd channels are unwatchable due to the stutter)
Signal strength fluctuates around 60% and quality can be 0%. On good channels strength 97% and quality 100%.
I’ve moved the booster away from the electrical extension and WiFi router - it didn’t make any difference.
I’ve taken the booster out altogether and get no channels on a retune
I’ve connected to a second ariel (Wales instead of North West) no improvement.
Neighbours say they added a booster and have no problems at all. Ariel faces the same direction as all other houses around.
I’m suspecting either - get a new booster or play with the ariel/get a man in.
Any other ideas that I should investigate?

Remove YV box and see what you get with direct feed .
Try power to TV etc not from Extension socket .0 -
It’s an LG smart tv but I don’t see any freeview in it.
I have a freeview box somewhere if I can find it I can re tune through that and see what happens0 -
Ignore that. Found the tv settings.0

OK, can’t believe I’ve never thought of removing the box from the equation, thank you.
So the planes still cause a stutter, but a lot lot less, we’ll have to give it a few days to be conclusive but the past half hour seems to be a vast improvement.
The weather effects also seem to have ceased.
Great news! Now, how can I record TV? Do I need a new box that won’t have the problems the you view one does?
Are there any recommendations (that I could get 2nd hand from eBay/cheap)?0 -
Next step would be connections between YV box and TV .0

I think they’re okay, the ariel is still going through the yv box.
I just selected the input of the tv to ariel and am watching through the tv with just a little airplane stutter.0 -
My 4 gang socket extension is prone to interferance on BT YouView box .0
-
Have you compared your aerial to your neighbours that have no issue? Do they look similar?0
-
The extension is away from the yv box and the ariel is similar to the neighbours.
I think given it’s all good on the tv using the ariel the problem is the yv box.
A google on that suggests an attenuator may settle the signal so that the yv box can cope with it. It’s about £2 from eBay so I’m going to give that a go and see what happens.
Thanks for the assistance and I’ll keep you updated.0
