Hoover spares - John Lewis

Hi,
Has anyone had any experiences of sourcing spares for John Lewis vacuum cleaners, especially for the 3L upright vacuum (model 85565104)
I cannot find spare belts anywhere, I have tried espares, ebay, amazon, local repair shop, even Hutchinson the manufacturer of the belt etc.
The belt has the following on it:
Hutchinson poly V 3PH198 Flexonic 18 118
I've contacted John Lewis customer services, whom 3 weeks later still can't tell me where to purchase spares from.
The hoover was purchased second hand from an auction at John Pye Auctions & didn't come with the instruction manual.
Many thanks

85565104 it is a John Lewis 3L upright vacuum cleaner in white.
The belt has the following on it:

Many thanks0 -
'Hoover' is a brand name like 'Dyson' is, it is not the generic name for the appliance itself: you are probably confusing the search engine. Try searching under "vacuum cleaner" or "vacuum".
Or contact John Lewis customer services. They were helpful when I was trying to source a spare/ consumable for a kitchen appliance earlier this year.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Found this statement in a Huchinson.pdf catalogue: -
b. FLEXONIC® BELTS
FleXonic® belts are not in the catalogue because every belt
is specially dimensioned and designed for a particular application.
Please contact us if you are interested in the FleXonic® belt..
Looks like you are dependent on John Lewis and their manufacturer.
Could try searching on belt dimensions, or try elastic bands/'O' rings.0 -
Moss5, thank you.
I did email Hutchinsons, they gave me a link, but didn't tell me what you have said, may give them another try.0 -
So what I can gather from the last few days, I am the only person to ever need a belt or any kind of spare part for a John Lewis Vacuum cleaner!0

I think I would be making a proper written complaint to John Lewis about this.
Might be the only way to get them to respond sensibly.
Somebody must have made this John Lewis branded vacuum & surely John Lewis are obliged to supply access to spare parts or the details of where spare parts can be obtained ??0 -
Greyteam1959.
I asked the customer services who manufactures their vacuums so I could go directly to them for spares, their answer was "I regret to inform you that I am unable to supply you with this information"
I did point out to them that people pay £90 for a vacuum that will end up in a tip/landfill the moment it breaks, because spares cannot be sourced for them.0 -
Not yet they aren't. Though if sense prevails and the UK stays in the EU then they will in the next couple of years.greyteam1959 wrote: »I think I would be making a proper written complaint to John Lewis about this.

Sounds frustrating.
The earliest review on the John Lewis website is a year ago, and one states that it came with spare filters .... nobody mentions a belt though.
Could try telephoning a couple of JL stores, or escalating your complaint with Customer Services. Where and when you purchased is irrelevant, this is very much a current model.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
